<\/a>These gray fox images were captured after sunset with\u00a0my new Canon 70-200 mm f 2.8 lens with 1.4 teleconverter, hand-held.\u00a0 I had read about its sharpness and the \u00a0quality is\u00a0more than\u00a0I’d hoped for.<\/p>\n Most of the hummingbird images were done without aid of multiple flashes.\u00a0 These were done with a single flash used as a fill light.<\/p>\n By using the on-camera flash, I was able to photograph hummingbirds at relatively slow shutter speeds (1\/125 – 1\/200 second)\u00a0to capture great light and wing blur.\u00a0 Of course,\u00a0 the blur gives a sense of motion to\u00a0still image.\u00a0 The trick is to keep the bird’s eye sharp.\u00a0\u00a0For this capture, I used\u00a0a Canon 7D camera, 500 mm lens with Really Right Stuff flash bracket and the Canon 580 EX flash.<\/p>\n Dr. Beto Gutierrez and I had a good afternoon of photography in late September at his Santa Clara Ranch,\u00a0one of the premier photo ranches in south Texas.\u00a0 The next four photos were done from a photography blind at a water hole with year-round feeders.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Keep watching for fresh work in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n Larry<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" In recent weeks, I’ve been working on so many things, it’s hard to remember specifics.\u00a0\u00a0We were in\u00a0the Davis Mountains of west Texas\u00a0for two weeks, then\u00a0we spent a week in Wichita Falls.\u00a0 Much of the rest of the time, I’ve been getting ready for this winter’s and spring’s photo tours… obtaining permits, motel\u00a0reservations, etc.\u00a0\u00a0At last, it’s … Continue reading Summary of Photo Work<\/span> <\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a>
