I just wanted\u00a0to post a few images I got last week on a resaca (oxbow) near Brownsville.\u00a0 It seems there is always something good to photograph, even in the hottest part of the summer.\u00a0 I was surprised that none of these birds showed serious signs of molting.<\/p>\n

Ducks like to perch and remain motionless for long periods but photographer patience will\u00a0pay off.\u00a0 The ducks\u00a0have to stretch or fly every little while.<\/p>\n

I waited two hours for\u00a0a green kingfisher\u00a0to fly\u00a0on to this perch.\u00a0 The nice head tilt came while she was looking upward for avian predators.<\/p>\n

Grebes have to stretch, shake off excess water, and move around.\u00a0 They don’t seem to have the patience for\u00a0sitting and resting.\u00a0 That great background\u00a0color is\u00a0sunset light\u00a0bouncing off the resaca.<\/p>\n
