The photo above\u00a0was done with a 24-105 mm lens and Canon 5D full sensor camera, hand held.<\/p>\n

Great Southern White butterfly in the Wichita Falls, Texas Nature Center.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Both of these butterfly shots were done with the Canon ESO 1D Mark IV and a 300mm f4 Canon lens with Feisol tripod and ball head.<\/p>\n

This night heron\u00a0was photographed from\u00a0beside a county road\u00a0west of Edinburg.\u00a0\u00a0 Summer and fall\u00a0rains created\u00a0excellent ephemeral\u00a0habitats for\u00a0spoonbills, ducks, herons, wood storks,\u00a0etc..<\/p>\n

This green kingfisher was feeding at a\u00a0resaca (oxbow)\u00a0in the Sabal Palm Sanctuary east of Brownsville.<\/p>\n

I’m waiting for fall colors.\u00a0 With\u00a0McAllen temperatures\u00a0hovering around 85 degrees, it’s hard to guess when north Texas will begin to look like autumn.\u00a0 Are you seeing color in the woods yet?<\/p>\n
