During a short trip to Santa Fe, I grabbed a\u00a0few photos of landscapes to share with you.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0weather was great with clear,\u00a0crisp (38 degrees\u00a0in Santa Fe on March 10) days.\u00a0 While it was raining across\u00a0Texas, New Mexico was enjoying beautiful spring weather.<\/p>\n

Almost\u00a0everyone\u00a0seems to appreciate the history and pueblo style architecture of New Mexico.\u00a0\u00a0With some of these images, I tried to capture a sense of those qualities.<\/p>\n

Most of these images were done with the Canon 5D Mark II and 24-105 lens\u00a0with polarizing filter, hand-held.<\/p>\n

This blue window photo was a little difficult to compose since it was covered by a canopy of ugly fabric.<\/p>\n

This apricot tree was blooming in the patio of the Georgia O’Keefe Museum at Santa Fe.\u00a0 I decided to try it in black and white and color.\u00a0 The shadows on those adobe walls were irresistible.<\/p>\n

This petroglyph photo is my favorite of the trip.\u00a0 By waiting until\u00a0sunset on\u00a0Sierra Blanca and painting the rock face with light during a slow exposure, I wanted to\u00a0bring\u00a0the face to life\u00a0while capturing some color on the peak.<\/p>\n

*** If your monitor\u00a0isn’t properly calibrated, this image may be too dark or too bright to properly render the intended effect.\u00a0 I strongly recommend that all photographers purchase and use a monitor calibrator and use it often.\u00a0 I use\u00a0Spyder3 Express\u00a0software but several others are available.<\/p>\n

As we reached Sanderson and Del Rio, Texas on the return trip,\u00a0pools of water left by\u00a0recent heavy rains\u00a0were everywhere.\u00a0 Thank\u00a0you,\u00a0Lord, for this sunset and reflection\u00a0after the rain.<\/p>\n
