It’s about time to start the winter\/spring\u00a0photo tour season.\u00a0 In 13 more days, I will be leading a whooping crane\u00a0“shoot” on the mid-Texas coast.\u00a0 The last slot filled today.\u00a0 Meanwhile, I’ve just been getting out for short trips to photograph local birds and deer.<\/p>\n

It was so warm this winter,\u00a0I really didn’t get much done outdoors.\u00a0\u00a0It would be fantastic\u00a0if the weather cooled just a little and\u00a0we could\u00a0see\u00a0more ducks pushing south along the coast.<\/p>\n

The plugin that controls the photo presentation in these newsletters is\u00a0not functioning correctly (glitch in the latest update from WordPress).\u00a0 We are working on it and hope to have things back to normal soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

This duck took off at close range and I managed to clip its left wing, so some rebuilding was required for this one.<\/p>\n

Some of these bird shots were taken on overcast days with heavy winds.\u00a0 But, we take what we can get, especially when it’s been days between periods of sunlight.<\/p>\n
