Sunday afternoon I headed\u00a0to South Padre Island\u00a0for\u00a0a few hours of photography.\u00a0\u00a0The high in McAllen, Texas\u00a0today (Tuesday) was\u00a036 degrees\u00a0with\u00a0overcast skies, so I’m feeling pretty good about that decision.<\/p>\n

The coot got hammered but escaped with all his feathers in tact.<\/p>\n

This mullet wasn’t so lucky; a\u00a0royal tern speared him through the head.<\/p>\n

This was the last shot of the day.\u00a0 A\u00a0pair of pintails basking in the last rays of afternoon light.<\/p>\n

Is was a fun afternoon and, I made it to the house in time\u00a0for that incredible\u00a0Viking comeback\u00a0win over the Saints.<\/p>\n
