For the first time in several years, the butterfly population\u00a0has exploded at our small butterfly\/hummingbird garden.\u00a0 Actually, I’ve been impressed with the species diversity, too.\u00a0 So, during the past two afternoons, I\u00a0grabbed\u00a0the Canon 5D Mark IV camera with Canon 100-400 mm lens to\u00a0capture\u00a0as many species images as possible.\u00a0 A few were missed, but you can see from the\u00a0shots below that subject matter\u00a0was abundant in the little 25′ x 25′ habitat.<\/p>\n

All the shots were taken “hand held” with an\u00a0ISO of 640-800 and f stop of 8-18.\u00a0 Seldom did I let the shutter speed dip below 350th of a second.<\/p>\n

Flowering plants in the garden include mist flower, Turk’s cap, heliotrope and shrimp plant.<\/p>\n

There are more butterflies to come when next\u00a0I share a trip to the National Butterfly Center and Falcon State Park Butterfly gardens.<\/p>\n
